Photodynamic Therapy
A procedure using ALA (aminolevulinic acid) and
the BLU-U light creates a photosensitizing reaction in the skin. It is absorbed best by oil glands and sun damage cells. The BLU-U light source radiates pre-treated skin and a reaction creates unstable oxygen molecules which results in the elimination of bacteria, the shrinking of oil producing glands and destruction of certain pre-cancerous lesions.
BLU-U Treatment
BLU-U by Dusa, treatment for acne patients is a great, painless way to reduce moderate acne. This filtered light kills the P.acne bacteria that causes breakouts and with continued treatment is very effective in reducing the number of breakouts and frequency. The treatment works best when a patient receives treatments twice a week for the first four weeks and is then tapered off to once a month.
