In your 20s, aging skin is not necessarily visible. You should still have that healthy glow, great elasticity, zero wrinkles, and minimal sun damage. Nonetheless, you must take advantage of this time and practice proper skin care at home. For instance, practicing good hygiene with daily cleansing of the skin at least twice a day, followed by antioxidants and sunscreen in the daytime, and an appropriate eye serum is a great foundation for life-long healthy skin. A great way to make sure you get your skin as clean as it can be without damaging it is to use a cleansing brush, like the Clarisonic Pro- One of the best skin care at home treatments we've seen in years! This wonder brush will remove all the dirt, oil, and dead skin, that you can't do by simply washing your face. Be sure to see a skin care specialist before you begin in order to find the correct brush head for your skin type as well as proper care of the equipment.

Skin care at this age should be all about sun damage prevention and antioxidants for free radical damage prevention. Everyday we get UV exposure and free radicals attack our skin all day and all night. Antioxidants are nutrients (like vitamin C and E) and enzymes (proteins inside your body) that can help to prevent and repair damage to your body's tissue. Antioxidants do this by slowing or preventing the effect of free radicals, which start oxidation -- a process that causes damage from oxygen that can lead to cell dysfunction. If you've seen a peeled apple turn brown, you've seen oxidation in action. Antioxidants block the effects of free radicals!

A MUST in your skin care routine is a sun protection of at least SPF 30 or higher EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. That includes cloudy days or even days spent indoors. It is just a good habit to practice. And please, don’t neglect your neck and hands!

Skin care in your 30s is much the same as in your 20s, with some minor changes. Your skin is now showing some signs of aging. Perhaps you have noticed brown spots, facial veins, fine lines or old acne scars. Again, antioxidants and sunscreen are top priorities on your list. You may also want to take this time to explore professional microdermabrasion treatments to improve sluggish texture, tone, and reduce breakouts. But if you are lucky and started using good skin care early on, then you can slow down the aging process!
